"What's in this tea?!"

We all get curious about the ingredients that our in the things we consume. Tea is no different. This list contains the benefits of each ingredient we use in our teas, so you get full transparency of why it was chosen and how it can help you with regular use.

Focus Blend

The creation of this blend started everything for Phoenix Blends. We wanted to find a way to have more focus and energy to get through our day. We were tired of coffee and caffeine, and any after-affects of other methods meant to energize us. After testing for almost 8 months, we found a blend that tasted great, increased our focus and concentration, and even gave us a little energy to hit the gym with. Here's what we added and what it can do for you:

Brahmi Leaf (also known as bacopa monnieri) is a staple in Ayurvedic medicine. It has been used for many purposes, including improving memory, reducing anxiety, and treating epilepsy. Research has shown Brahmi to boost brain function and alleviate anxiety and stress.

Peppermint Leaf is caffeine free, may improve digestion, concentration, allergy symptoms, and headaches.

Ginseng is a slow-growing plant used in traditional Chinese medicine for years. It is a potent antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. Ginseng has also been shown to increase calmness and improve brain functions like memory, behavior and mood.

Ginko Biloba is actually a tree and we use ginko from the leaves. It can support eye and vision health, improve memory, focus, attention span, and circulation and heart health.

Rosemary is an evergreen herb that is used to improve memory and concentration, digestion, possibly protect against brain damage, and prevent brain aging.

Hibiscus is not a flower and comes in inedible varieties as well. Hibiscus has the potential to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, boost liver health, and promote weight loss.

Calm Blend

After witnessing friends and family deal with feelings of depression and anxiety, we began to look for holistic ways to help. What did they all want and need? A break from the stress and anxiety of their day. Something to look forward to on bad days. So we found the holy grail of mood enhancement, relaxation, and health. The best part? You don't have to be at home or meditating to reap the benefits. Drink our blend anywhere, anytime, for a mood boost and a wave of stress relief.

Chamomile is a flower that can be used for a variety of things, and it's benefits strengthen the more potent it is. Chamomile can help with sleep and relaxation, reducing menstrual pain, lower blood sugar, reduce inflammation, slow or prevent osteoporosis, and more.

Lavender is a herb that is a part of the mint family. It used to be prescribed to people dealing with insomnia and sleep disorders. Now, in addition to those uses, people also use lavender for anxiety, headaches/migraines, and research shows promising results when using lavender to help with depression.

Butterfly Pea Butterfly Pea Flowers are a very attractive way to spice up your tea with its vibrant color, but it's also very beneficial for you. The flowers can aid in improving skin and hair health, lowering blood pressure, anti-inflammatory properties, and possible support for preventing cancer cell growth due to the nutrients found in the flower.

Valerian Root is a flowering plant but we (of course) use it's root for tea. Valerian has been used for centuries to help increase sleep quality and relieve stress and anxiety.

Lemon Balm is also apart of the mint family (I feel a theme here). Traditionally used to improve mood and cognitive function, lemon balm has also been used to relieve stress, help ease insomnia, relieve indigestion and nausea, and lessen the intensity of cramps.

Útero Blend

Who absolutely loves being on their cycle? That one hand doesn't count. This blend came from witnessing the women around us in various stages of life, dealing with various ailments that naturally and unnaturally occur within our bodies. Dealing with exaggerated PMS symptoms that leave us barely to function, fibroids, PCOS, and endometriosis. We did our part to help alleviate the pain associated with that time of the month.

Red Raspberry Leaf is known for its nutritious berries, but we use the leaf which is loaded with health benefits as well. Red raspberry is beneficial to pregnant women in shortening labor, but also ALL women, by helping to relieve PMS including cramping, nausea, and diarrhea.

Chamomile (see chamomile above, because no repeats haha)

Dong Quai is also known as the female ginseng, and has been used to relieve cramps, irregular mentrual cycles, PMS, and menopausal symptoms and plays a role in balancing hormone excess and defecits. It's also been used for centuries to improve blood health by boosting blood circulation.

Flaxseed is a powerful ingredient (that sometimes requires a little longer steeping to benefit from) that has been known to support ovulation regularity and progesterone production. Flaxseeds are important to hormonal balance, and has even shown to help with PCOS.

Lavender (see lavender above, because again, no repeats)

Boost Blend

We don't get sick often, but we know people who do. This simple blend was our way of periodically (think, season changes) boost our immune system so we don't have to worry about getting a cold or flu. With the addition of the Covid outbreak, it proved beneficial to keep this blend in stock to strengthen everyone's immune system. We love to combine this blend with seamoss gel to boost it's effectiveness and get a well-rounded and nutrient-rich tea.

Sencha is the most popular green tea in Japan with a refreshing flavor due to it being steamed during preparation. It contains low to moderate caffeine naturally to provide a boost that doesn't backfire, and boasts anti-inflammatory properties, anti-aging, anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, and lowers bad cholesterol.

Ginger is very popular when it comes to tea, and is packed with antioxidants and other compounds that helps your body fight off chronic diseases, promote healthy aging and digestion, reduce nausea, and improve immunity.

Echinacea (purple cone flower) has been a popular herb worldwide for good reason. Echinacea provides a boost to your immune system, lowers your blood sugar, increase skin health, and provide anti-inflammatory benefits.

Elderberry is a berry (provocative, we know) that's one of the most versatile when it comes to healing and health, dating back to 400BC. It's been used to fight cold and flu symptoms, constipation, joint and muscle pain, stress, and lung infections. This is one ingredient you should avoid if you are pregnant and/or breastfeeding.
